we're knitting at the moment but if anyone wants to bring any other projects they are working on, they are more than welcome!

The First Social!

Hey everyone,

we will be holding our first social at boogie lounge on Monday 8th November!
It's karaoke night! drinks are student prices and you get a free shot if you sing. I (Helen) will be singing (badly!) and Ella will probably need a bit of convincing! ha ha!

We will be having a theme - CUPCAKES! so you can dress up as a full human sized cupcake or just wear a cute cupcake print t-shirt or hair clip!

Kicks off at 8.30pm!

Next meeting Wednesday 20th November 4pm

Hey everyone, 

We've negotiated a deal in regards to wool. Budget Wools (next door to Revolution bar) have kindly agreed to give us 10% discount when you show your bitz and bobz membership card. If you don't have your card, make sure you get one because discount will only be given when you show your card.

With regards to next week's meeting, we'll be meeting at 4pm at Pittville Campus, in the Atrium, Wednesday 20th November and we will be knitting.

We are currently in the process of finding a cafe in town to meet as an alternative (tea and cake! yay!), but as most of them close at 5pm, we'd have to meet earlier to give us enough time for crafting! So we'll discuss this with everyone at the meeting and see from there.

hidey hi!

we are STILL trying to sort out a deal for you guys for some wool but we would like it if you all got your hands on some wool for tomorrow! if you really REALLY cant get to the shops, we will try get our hands on some which you can then buy from us!

charlotte (one our lovely members) says:
'on the wool front, i thought you'd like to know, most of the local charity shops have different balls of wool, all about a pound each and in varying colours -(Sue ryder is always a good one, turns out we have two in Chelt) ! Otherwise there are three shops that seem to do wool, Sue's craft - about £1,50 ish, The budget wool shop next to Revs - looks scary so i haven't been in, or the sewing shop opposite wilkinsons'


we popped into budget wools, they're really nice! (and the same price as the little shop opposite wilkinson) >>
100g basic (i think 4ply < yeh i dont really know what that means) was £1.35 ..

meet and greet

helloha! hope u guys had a good first day, or first day back! freshers fayre

after geting up, at a disturbingly early hour (9 is early in student land!!!!) we headed over to park to set up our stall...

here it is in all its glory!

and here are we... not quite so glorious... ;)

BUT still we powered through and by 2.30 all we had left where these poor naked freshers..

oooo...naughty!

but four pages of sign ups

 YAY! :)

so hopefully shortly, there will actually be people reading this blog because they too will know the SPLENDOR of bitz and bobz...

the (very) temporary end

pre fresher fayre bake-a-thon!

Our LONG day started with a trip to sains-buggers, where we purchased baking ingredients to the sum of 20 english pounds! ..thats a lot of eggs...

and then we got to the good stuff :)

here is helen baking: its serious business!

our grand adventure did lead us to produce, some 82 cupcakes, 29 people shaped biscuits, 25 cookies, 23 biscuits and 20 jam biscuits and 2 trays of brownies... 

thats not including the 'taste tests' from each batch!

there where several accidents....

the loss of a spoon to some brownies mix, 

baking for three hours = slippery finger = loss of spoon!

mutant biscuits...

and icing...

EVERYWHERE

...we then had to store them some where...where the cats couldn't get at them... untrustworthy blighters!

... to the spare room!

all ready to be taken to the freshers fayre, the next day :)
